COELIMA FOCUSED ON EMERGING MARKETS AND NORTH AMERICA

Having closed 2023 with a turnover of eight million euros, of which around 92% represent exportations, Coelima by Mabera aims 2024 to consolidate and boost its presence on all fronts, both international and national markets. With a remarkable focus on the North American and emerging country markets explained to T Jornal, Paulo Almeida, Director of Sales and Business Development.

This person added it is also for this reason that they return to New York Market Week, which takes place between the 18th and 20th of March in New York, as “it is a strategic presence where we hope to achieve a dynamic of constant proximity to that market”.

The expectations for the event include “the attempt to identify opportunities with potential new contacts and find solutions that help to consolidate and expand the business with current partners”, and – in this sense – the market week in New York “is oriented, mainly, for the USA with some foreign participation that we are aware of”.

Regarding the growing interest in Made in Portugal throughout the editions, Paulo Almeida states that this happens due to “affirmation, recognition, and focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability, but also flexibility and service combined with knowing how to interpret specifications and requirements of the customer”. However, it is relevant not to forget that “manufactured in Portugal will have additional importance due to its proximity and stability in the security of completing a business”.

Between the 18th and 20th of March, Coelima will present “the new SS25 collection, Rebuilt Classic, has three conceptual themes”, stated Isa Rodrigues, Director of Design, Development and Innovation. The first theme includes 100% cotton percale, with hyper-colorful mix-and-match prints, coordinated with dyed yarns, with soft and fresh finishes, complemented with printed gases.

The second “is based on sustainable products such as linen and hemp and their mixtures with cotton and viscose, mixtures with recycled fibers and new continuous dyeing techniques with natural mineral dyes that translate into significant water savings”, detailed Isa Rodrigues.

Finally, the third presents satins in 100% cotton with a look without the formal shine of satin, “with a unique touch, fresh but cozy”. We bring back striped satin with a new design approach, fine jacquard coordinates, and more three-dimensional structures that enhance comfort.

The Director of Design, Development, and Innovation also reveals that Coelima continues to complement its core articles “with terry, sleepwear, and home wear proposals coordinated with bed proposals and even coordinated bed proposals for pets” and highlights how the presentation of quilted accessories is new.

Investing in digital, Coelima also launched an online store to sell its brands Coelima and Nicoleta. It is a step that comes in “following the strategy of increasing penetration in the national and international market”, told Isa Rodrigues, Director of Design, Development, and Innovation, to T Jornal.

With sustained growth, the online store has been launching sustainable products, “such as duvets, pillows, and decorative bedspreads with recognized quality”, detailed, adding the presence of 100% cotton articles “which have been making history in the Portuguese home for more than 100 years.”

The new platform will also launch new products, such as sleepwear, as the focus is to create “a dynamic with new attractions for customers who visit us”. Items from the spring-summer collections will soon be available.

Seeing 2024 as a year that aims to “consolidate and boost our presence in different markets and expand in emerging markets”, the Director of Sales and Business Development emphasizes that the first quarter of the year is promising in this ambition “with the increase in the allocation of business by around 20% compared to the previous year” and adds that “the recent opening of the online store, which is in constant development and updating, is the investment in digital that we hope will contribute to the consolidation of the Coelima project”.
