CITEVE presented its camouflage solution for the army at the NATO conference. It took place at the end of May in the capital of the United Kingdom, London. The camouflage was developed within the ACAMSII scope – Adapting to the environment – a novel camouflage system for the soldier.
ACAMSII was presented by Gilda Santos at the conference ‘NATO AVT-371 – RWS on Materials and Technologies for Electro-optical Camouflage’, within the scope of session 2, reserved for ‘Materials and Technologies providing signature adaptation to the environment’. The project was also chair of session 5: ‘Materials & technologies for enhanced Camouflage usability’.
ACAMSII is a project that foresees the development of adaptive camouflage systems to protect soldiers in future military conflicts occurring in multinational contexts and in different environments. The system assumes that an advanced opponent can operate sensors in several wavelength bands and use data from the fusion sensor to extract more information. So, there is a strong need to respond to this threat through multispectral adaptive camouflage.
This project began in May 2018 and has an expected duration of 43 months, being developed in a partnership between CITEVE and CeNTI.
