CITEVE, CENTI, AND TINTEX LEAD DEBATES AT THE TECHTEXTIL FORUM

Taking place between the 23rd and 26th of April in Frankfurt and part of the 20th edition of the event, the Techtextil Forum reflects on what moves the global textile industry and brings together international experts for presentations, discussions, and debates. Among those involved, researchers from CITEVE, CeNTI, and Tintex Textiles stand out.

Starting on April 23rd, it is during April 24th that the intervention of Portuguese researchers begins. Paula Rodrigues, R&D Engineer & Project Manager at CITEVE, will be discussing the importance of the Digital Product Passport. That same day, André Barbosa (CITEVE Researcher) and Gilda Santos (Protection and Defense Manager) will present – ​​respectively – knowledge on advanced and sustainable textile solutions for greater camouflage efficiency and on innovative and sustainable prototyping for the defense area.

On the 25th, Lúcia Rodrigues, technical manager of R&D projects, will present lyocell and cellulose acetate non-woven fabrics. In turn, the topic of new bio-based pigmented inks for digital textile printing applications will be discussed by Augusta Silva, Innovation Manager for Textile Printing and Coating.

Pedro Magalhães, Head of Innovation at Tintex Textiles will also speak on that day and will present about the InVinoTex project, an initiative that uses waste from the wine harvest to create a textile alternative to leather, and Juliana Silva, researcher at CeNTI, will address the blue bioeconomy theme in the textile industry. Finally, on April 25th, Ana Luísa Gonçalves, a researcher at CITEVE, will discuss innovative technologies to reduce the water footprint in textile finishing processes.

With the program still to be updated (here), the Program Committee that defines the main themes and selects the lectures for the four days of the Techtextil Forum includes, among other experts, António Braz Costa, director of CITEVE.
