A first appearance at Milano Unica, a clear ambition for the future. For Barbosa & Cardoso, exhibiting at the leading international trade fair for premium fabrics is more than a business opportunity – it is the beginning of a long-term commitment to one of the industry’s most influential platforms. Driven by innovation, quality and collaboration, the company arrives in Milan ready to present its identity, connect with new international brands and demonstrate how Portuguese textile expertise can translate into sophisticated, value-added fabrics for the global fashion market.
What makes MU a strategic trade fair for your company?
Tiago Silva, business development director: Milano Unica is the reference trade fair for premium fabrics, so being here is a natural step for us.
We see it as the right place to present who we are and from this edition onwards, we intend to make Milano Unica part of our exhibition strategy.
MU has invested significantly in its digital ecosystem, particularly through e-MilanoUnica Connect. How valuable is this platform for increasing your visibility before, during, and after the fair?
Digital visibility/presence is one of the pillars of our strategy, so we see great value in platforms like e-MilanoUnica Connect.
We are especially pleased that one of our fabrics was selected for the MU43 Inspirations page, Tender Couples.
It also creates a lasting record of our participation, preserving our journey and the evolution of our collections as part of Milano Unica’s history from our very first exhibition.
What are your expectations for this edition?
This is our first time exhibiting at Milano Unica, so naturally we’re excited!
Just being here is already an important step for us.
Our main goal is to introduce our company to new brands, show the level of quality and sophistication we can deliver, and start building relationships that can grow over time.
If visitors only had 60 seconds at your stand, which sample would you show them first and why?
I would show them one of the fabrics we developed in collaboration with a Central Saint Martin’s student.
It reflects exactly the direction we want to take as a company: combining creativity with technical know-how to create sophisticated products with real added value.
It’s a fabric that tells our story in just a few seconds.
