The year 2026 begins at a fast pace for the Portuguese textile and apparel industry, with ATP – the Portuguese Textile and Apparel Association promoting, as early as January, the participation of Portuguese companies in four of the sector’s most relevant international trade fairs, under the Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL project.
Between January 13 and 29, made in Portugal will be represented in London, New York, Milan and Munich, strengthening the industry’s internationalization strategy, promoting sustainable textile solutions and reinforcing Portugal’s positioning as a trusted partner for international brands and designers.
The first destination is The London Textile Fair, taking place on January 13–14, with the participation of Albano Morgado, LMA, Unis Design, East Ocean, JOF and LEMAR. At the same time, Portugal will be present at Première Vision New York, a strategic fair for the North American market, with the participation of Balutêxtil, Barbosa & Cardoso, Magma Têxtil and Consifex.
Milano Unica, held from January 20 to 22, will feature a strong Portuguese presence, reflecting the importance of the Italian and European markets for mid- to high-end and high-end Portuguese textiles. Participating companies include 6Dias Têxteis, Albano Morgado, Brito Knitting, Fábrica de Tecidos Vilarinho, ITJV, ISLA, LEMAR, LMA, LRT, Magma Têxtil, Sidónios Malhas and Troficolor Denim Makers.
Closing the month, from January 27 to 29, Portuguese participation will extend to Munich Fabric Start, in Germany, with Bloomati, Fábrica de Tecidos Vilarinho, ITJV, LEMAR, MMRA and Troficolor Denim Makers, at a trade fair recognized for its strong focus on innovation, sustainability and future trends.
Since its launch at the end of 2024, the Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL project has followed a consistent and relevant path for the textile and apparel industry, with more than 20 participations in international trade fairs, supporting the internationalization of over 60 small and medium-sized enterprises across seven key markets.
With this particularly dynamic start to the year, the project reaffirms ATP’s commitment to supporting, in a structured and continuous way, market diversification and the strengthening of companies’ competitiveness.
