Portugal is marking its presence at A+A Düsseldorf, the leading event dedicated to occupational health and safety, running until November 7. Nine companies are participating under the Sustainable Textiles & Apparel From PORTUGAL project promoted by ATP: A. Sampaio & Filhos, ASC Moldes, Axfilia, Dune Bleue, Quality Lab, Sancar Premium Socks, Sidónios Seamless Tech, Sidónios Malhas, Ultra Creative, Unifardas, and Tiajo.
This joint participation focuses on protective textiles, workwear, and safety footwear, reflecting how the Portuguese industry has evolved to offer solutions with increasingly higher performance, both technically, in terms of comfort, and environmentally.
A.Sampaio & Filhos highlights to T Jornal its Protection+ by A. Sampaio line, created in 2013 to showcase the company’s technical and innovative capabilities. Under this registered brand, seven product ranges have been developed, offering certified solutions for the professional and personal protection market. “In addition to public services (such as gas and electricity companies), the Protection+ fabric ranges are intended for the manufacture of military and firefighter uniforms.”

ASC Moldes presents its latest line of safety footwear, featuring dual-density PU and the option to produce a tri-color sole using the traditional single-mold process.
Axfilia divides its innovations into two areas: one for defense and military applications, and another for innovations in knitted materials for workwear and protective wear. In the first area, the company recently won the PCIAW Defence & Security PPE Innovation Award with the Thermocore Heat Dispersion system for ballistic vests (in collaboration with ACE LINK INC). In the second, Axfilia continues to develop lighter, more breathable structures that maintain protection and durability, especially using knitted construction materials.
Specialized in socks, Dune Bleue brings to Germany new safety and work socks for technical boots, made from blends of wool and technical fibers that provide high resistance to pilling and abrasion while maintaining their core features: dry skin and regulated foot temperature.

Quality Lab, in turn, highlights that it is in the final stage of accreditation under the NP EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard. “Soon, we will be recognized as a European notified body, authorized to certify PPE and the technical fabrics used in their manufacture.”
In the accessories segment, Sancar Premium Socks presents a new line of multifunctional socks combining protection, breathability, and durability. They are made from advanced fiber blends such as merino wool, alpaca, and technical yarns. The company also highlights its ESD and flame-retardant ranges, developed to enhance user safety without compromising comfort.

The Sidónios group, represented by Sidónios Seamless Tech and Sidónios Malhas, is also exhibiting at A+A. This edition emphasizes military fabrics, including flame-retardant and high-visibility materials designed for security forces and high-performance workwear. “We are offering fabrics already compliant with the requirements of various military tenders, ensuring faster responses and simplified approval processes,” the company points out as a key advantage.
Ultra Creative focuses on its new professional clothing collection and the incorporation of NFC technology into garments, making them smart, traceable, and interactive. Unifardas highlights its Oeko-Tex STeP certification process.
Finally, Tiajo concentrates on supplying professional textiles quickly, with over 9 million meters of fabric in stock for immediate delivery.

It is worth noting that the Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL project has its own dedicated island at the fair, providing extra visibility. Other participating companies from the Portuguese textile and apparel sector include Endutex, Heliotextil, Rofinor Têxteis, SWS Workwear, and Trotinete.
