Amalia Home Collection explores the limits of luxury and Portuguese identity

The own brand of ACL Impex, Amalia Home Collection, has been exploring, season after season, the Portuguese soul through collections that unite tradition, sophistication, and textile excellence. In May, T Jornal had the opportunity to discover the brand’s latest proposals, exhibited at the Guimarães Home Fashion Week fair.

Among the highlights stand out bedding sets produced in Mulberry silk, Egyptian Giza 94 cotton, and Sea Island cotton — the latter considered one of the rarest and most luxurious in the world. An example of silk usage is the Cristal duvet cover, inspired by the gardens of the Palácio de Cristal and the peacocks that stroll there. The brand interprets this imagery through a cotton/silk jacquard with 610 threads, where the feather pattern comes to life.

Egyptian cotton appears in delicate pieces such as the Alba and Alentejo sheets, the latter inspired by the plowed lands of southern Portugal. Meanwhile, the Eden collection features the noble Sea Island cotton, offering a fresh and soft touch.

Where once the ideal bed was dressed exclusively in white, today there is room for bold tones like black, the team explains. In this context, Amalia Home Collection produced the Caviar line, a glossy, elegant, and contemporary proposal in black.

With four generations of accumulated knowledge, the brand positions itself at the forefront of using the noblest raw materials. But its savoir-faire is not limited to sheets: the Amalia signature is also present in knitted blankets, towels, and other accessories. The online store also offers proposals in cashmere, merino wool, and velvet.

Among the main markets for these premium Made in Portugal products are the United States, Dubai, and the United Kingdom. Over the past decade, the brand has consolidated its presence in prestigious international department stores, such as Harrods in London and Bloomingdale’s in the US.

“We adapt colors and fibers to the markets,” the company emphasizes, assuring that this has been a “very interesting expansion” with the goal to “continue supplying the luxury home textiles market.”
