Aldeco partnered with MainGuilty at the Silverstone Circuit during the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, bringing Portuguese textiles to one of the most prestigious stages in motorsport. One of the Portuguese company’s fabrics has been used on the Bubble Sofa, one of the luxury furniture brand’s iconic pieces, currently on display in The Vale VIP hospitality area.
“At MainGuilty, we reject the ordinary to create the extraordinary. Aldeco is a leading Portuguese brand in the home textiles sector and an internationally recognised name in the world of interior design,” the company states in a post on its website. The brand also highlights that Aldeco was “an essential partner in the development of the piece,” providing a fabric that is durable, water-repellent and stain-resistant.
“Together with Aldeco, we are bringing the very best of Portuguese design, innovation and craftsmanship to the global stage at Silverstone. A fusion of speed, comfort and art at The Vale,” MainGuilty adds. The project was led creatively by Susana Dias.
Speaking to T Jornal, Aldeco revealed that the selected fabric was Grass Easy Clean FR, described as “an outstanding solution for residential upholstery and contract projects.” According to the company, “thanks to its high elasticity, it easily adapts to curved and complex shapes, making it particularly suitable for upholstery with organic and rounded lines, while allowing for precise and visually harmonious finishes.”
Made from 100% flame-retardant polyester, the fabric offers excellent durability and abrasion resistance. Its Easy Clean technology is another of its key advantages, making everyday maintenance easier while helping preserve the fabric’s appearance over time.
Aldeco also highlights the sustainability credentials of the chosen fabric. “Grass Easy Clean FR is manufactured using a Zero Waste process, generating no production waste, and holds both the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH Compliant certifications, ensuring that it contains no harmful chemicals for human health or the environment,” the company explains.
Finally, Aldeco draws attention to the fabric’s rich colour composition, with different tones adding greater visual depth to the piece. Available in a wide range of colours, the collection offers designers and furniture manufacturers extensive creative freedom.
The Formula 1 British Grand Prix takes place from 3 to 5 July at the iconic Silverstone Circuit.
