Albano Morgado has a full calendar of trade fairs for the first few months of the year, and the company’s strategy is to ensure consistency in the various markets, maintaining contacts with regular customers and promoting contact with new ones.
‘Despite the uncertainties and a perceived slowdown in the markets in general, I felt that the British market is optimistic,’ says Baltazar Lopes, chief commercial officer, describing to T Jornal a very lively fair on the first day. The London Textile Fair was the first stop for the company from Castanheira de Pêra.
The Munich Fabric Start event, where the company also had a stand, had fewer visitors. However, the company emphasises that the collection presented was well received: ‘we presented the same collection from London in Munich, with upgrades, and it was very successful.’
The new SS26 collection was developed using natural, sustainable fibres and is rich in designs with attractive, natural colours. ‘We have different qualities of wool, cotton and blends of wool/linen, wool/cotton and cotton/linen,’ he adds.
With the collection now complete, he is looking forward to Première Vision Paris. ‘We hope to work in the usual way to ensure consistency in the various markets and the possibility of contacting new customers, so that we can trust that 2025 and 2026 will bring us peace of mind,’ he concludes.
