TEN PORTUGUESE COMPANIES ON THE CIRCULOSE NETWORK

The Swedish company Renewcell, a specialist in textile recycling, created a network of suppliers to help bring the sustainable fiber Circulose to market. The network comprises 47 yarn, fabric, and knit companies, of which ten are Portuguese: Acatel, Brito Knitting, Impetus, Inovafil, Matias & Araújo, RDD, Riopele, Tearfil, Tintex, and TMG.

In the Circulose Supplier Network, “these companies were the first to adopt fiber and have access to production volumes. By joining this network, they are committed to the continuous development of circular solutions”, said Renewcell, in a statement. “They will play a key role in sustainable textiles production and end products that carry the Circulose brand.”

“Implementing the Circulose Supplier Network is key to continuing to scale the product,” underlined Patrik Lundström, CEO of Renewcell. Circulose is produced from the recovery of cellulose from used clothing rich in cotton, which is transformed into pulp to give rise to new viscose fibers and filaments.

In addition to Portuguese companies, the network comprises partners in Austria, Bangladesh, China, Spain, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
