From Tokyo to New York, Toronto or Medellín, with all the great European capital cities in between. The From Portugal project will travel countless miles in 2020, in a calendar made from roughly a hundred fairs, and promises to take the Portuguese textile and fashion industry to the four corners of the globe.
On the plan already set, beyond the inevitable presence in the greatest fairs – such as Heimtextil, which happened last week, or Première Vision, in February –, the emerging markets are also on the agenda, from South America to the Middle East.
There will be 18 countries overall, mostly in European cities, where the From Portugal committee is already an habitué. Same as in the previous years, the Portuguese colours will fly again in the main fairs of Paris, Madrid, Milan, London, Berlin, Stuttgart and Munich. Outside the Old Continent, besides the emerging markets, the US and Japan receive special attention with the presence in several local fairs.
An increasingly complete schedule that includes the entire industry. The clothing and fashion sector is the highlight, with more than 30 dedicated fairs, but there is also a strong presence in home textile and déco fairs, yarn and accessories, as well as the emerging sector of technical textiles.
To increase the visibility of the Portuguese TCI and to promote quality, innovation and the sustainability of the Made in Portugal products, are the primary goals established for the From Portugal project in 2020.
