For Unifardas, the focus on the health sector goes beyond Covid-19. After spending the first months of the epidemic adapting to the new paradigm, the workwear company is investing 470 thousand euros in a project which foresees the acquisition of new cutting machines, update the computer system, and increase the floor plan.

The company created a new brand, Unifardas Healthcare, and is expanding its catalogue. “We are developing a collection with the support of health professionals. They tell us where pockets are needed, where the uniforms usually wear out the most, etc”, reveals Rui Araújo.

In addition, besides expanding the facilities from 500 to 720 m2, the 470 thousand euro project will also allow to renew the factory equipment. “We will have new offices, a showroom, and a reorganized storage space, with a special area destined to hospital products”, explains Rui Araújo. The investment also includes the acquisition of new cutting machines, updating the computer system, and financing the European level product certification processes.
