MODATEX is leading the European project for the training of a new professional profile: the Manufacturing Technician. The new profession was identified as lacking by the companies acting in the sector, and the task was developed in the scope of the CosTUmE project of the ERASMUS+ programme.
The aim is to prepare teachers for this new professional qualification, an innovative training package for the textile and clothing industry. A “Train the trainers” scheme will also take place, helping to identify sections of the profile in need of improvements. Once the methodology is defined, the training package will be developed and translated into the languages of the several cooperating countries.
Undergoing since January, the CosTUmE project will finish in September. This is an Ação-Chave 3 project, coordinated by CITEVE, bringing together partners from Portugal, Spain and Romania. The profile is conjugated with a ECVET matrix that enables the mobility of trainees between these three countries.
