Trotinete speeds on workwear and breaks the 3 million mark

The workwear company Trotinete is set to close the year with a turnover above 3 million euro boosted by Trot, its adult clothing brand, which represents 50% of the entire business flow. In 2020 they will launch an e-commerce platform for professional clothing.

“This year we have achieved a 50/50 balance between the children’s and adult sectors, although our long-term goal is to reach 80% in adult’s workwear. The children’s clothing sector is very seasonal, and we must diversify in order to grow”, explains Matilde Vasconcelos, the company’s director and founder.

For 2020, one of Trotinete’s primary goals is to launch an e-commerce platform for their workwear section. Featuring exclusive access for clients, Trotinete wants to simplify the customization and ordering processes. The same technology has already been adopted by their children’s clothing sector for schools, making up nowadays around 15% of sales.

The increase in sales led to new recruits. One of the reinforcements was Miguel Gomes, the company’s new CEO. “Right now we’re 31 people at Trotinete, but we think we’re going to grow and hire more people”, states the founder of the company, who maintains her functions as director.

Founded in 1992 and originally specialized in children’s uniforms, the company has been investing on workwear collections since 2007.
