In 2017, they created SOCKAPRO, the first patented sock with shinguard-holders for footballers. However, now that the game has changed, and we were all benched, António Patrício and Ricardo Tomaz have decided to develop a new pair of unisex socks that, besides the Stay Home incentive, wants to teach us how to Moonwalk.
It’s all about a video that, made to incentive voluntary confinement, teaches the viewer how to dance the Moonwalk or to do a series of fun games and at-home activities that can be made with socks or while wearing socks, helping to keep boredom at bay.
“The idea was to create a pair of unisex socks to promote and reinforce the idea that the longer we endure at home, the less we spread the virus, and therefore help health professionals at a time when they unfortunately can’t stop”, explains Ricardo Tomaz.
However, this help is not limited to bolster the importance of staying at home: a fraction of the revenue from each pair of socks sold will be converted into health supplies, which will be donated to the Portuguese National Health System (SNS). The socks are available for sale at www.sockapro.pt.
“We established a partnership with the SNS, and we will earmark between €0.50, €1 and €1.50, depending on the value of your purchase, to acquire and donate health supplies. We have three purchasing options, and the lowest cost per pair is only one euro! It’s inexpensive and so simple. We all use socks, right?”, concludes the entrepreneur.
