MORETEXTILE WANTS TO GROW HAND IN HAND WITH ZARA HOME

The profound restructuring of Zara Home’s operations, undertaken throughout the winter season of 18/19 by the Inditex group, explains the shaky beginning of the year for the MoreTextile group, which managed a last-minute recovery, closing last year’s exercise with a 64-million-euro business volume, of which 99% was exported.

“The beginning of 2019 was very hard. Zara Home is our biggest client, representing roughly 20% of our turnover, and only in May did they start making orders, very slowly”, tells Artur Soutinho, CEO of the MoreTextile group.

Between December ’18 and April ’19, the entire business of Inditex’s brand for home textiles was subjected to a reorganization, bringing changes to every level of the company – management, structure and retail. “Zara Home is the biggest European retailer of home textiles and, therefore, a massive customer for a manufacturer of our size”, relays the director of MoreTextile, whose main markets are the US and Canada, followed by Spain, France and the UK.

Beyond their sustainable products, innovative and differentiating, MoreTextile is currently widening the scope of its offer, namely with light flannel sleepwear (lighter than usual) and with decorative fabric for curtains.
