MARIABODYLINE AND PONTO POR PONTO WANT TO FIGHT COVID-19

Specialized in formal clothing for babies and children, Ponto por Ponto is seeking partners for producing “surgical gowns, masks or foot covers”. Maria Bodyline, by Maria Furtado, is also ready to assist in the battle that is affecting all of us.

The idea came from a conversation between the four associate sisters of Ponto por Ponto, a manufacturing company in both private label and own label, aware of the hardship that hospital units in Portugal are facing in the fight against Covid-19.

“We are willing and able to perform any job or establish partnerships with other companies”, states Sílvia Marques, commercial manager of the Porto-based company. Among the potential help, Sílvia highlights the production of “surgical gowns, masks and foot covers”, recalling that as a company specialized in ceremonial attire, Ponto por Ponto is “technically capable to perform delicate textile labour of any kind”.

In its turn, Maria Furtado, CEO and founder of Maria Bodyline, confesses “these are hard times. We wake up with our hearts in our mouths. I want to help; I don’t want to quit or to stop dreaming. I represent a tiny brand with a lot of dreams and ambition. It has been an uphill battle and there is more yet to come”.

Thus, she “would like to support factories producing masks and clothing for all health professionals by donating 30% of sales. Will I sell much? I don’t know. But it’s worth the try!”.
