Lantal invests 1.7 million and nearly doubles capacity

The conclusion of a 1.7-million-euro investment, which will enable Lantal to almost double the production of textiles for the interiors of trains, planes, boats and buses, drove the Portuguese minister of Economy, Pedro Siza Vieira, to visit the company’s factory in Santo Tirso.

“With this investment, we will increase our production capacity by approximately 90%, which will allow us to be more efficient and competitive in the manufacturing process, providing a better response to the markets”, states Constantino Silva, general manager of the leading European manufacturer for public transport textiles.

With a production almost entirely made for exporting, Lantal estimates the new investments will allow the company to reach a turnover of 18 million by 2021, when the productive capacities will be fully operative.
