At the award ceremony, the president of Portugal’s Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP), Luis Castro Henriques, highlighted the company’s ability to adapt to the demands of the health crisis in order to continue to grow. An example of perseverance, agility and innovation.

Synthetic fabrics, microfiber, and natural and artificial leather are the core business of the Elastron Group, which has experienced a dazzling growth in the last decade. Today it also has units in China (Tongxiang), Germany (Bielefeld) and Spain (Murcia), and supplies all major brands and sofa manufacturers.
With its own R&D and manufacturing units in China, to the production of leather – both synthetic and natural – Elastron joined the production of fabrics for the upholstery industry (including the automobile and boating sectors) and footwear, having quickly moved from the domestic market to a global scale.
Exporting to more than 70 countries, Elastron went from 1.2 million euros in sales at the beginning of the decade to more than 50 million in turnover last year, having been considered in 2018 by the London Stock Exchange as one of the ten most inspiring companies in Portugal.
