CeNTI is developing a personal protection visor, reusable and innovative, with antiviral and antifogging properties. Featuring a brand-new design, the visor is easier to wear when compared to traditional solutions, ensuring greater comfort and safety.
The visor, the result of a project led by Centro de Nanotecnologia, with the cooperation of Centro Clínico Académico de Braga and Moldit (a company specialized in moulds and plastic components), will be more ergonomic, and uses an injection moulding process to make the fixing ring that underlines the new solution. Additional protection will be provided by antiviral and antifogging coatings, which offer greater protection. It also helps the environment, as it is reusable.
CeNTI has also been leading and participating in other initiatives in the fight against Covid-19, which include the 3D printing of the fixing ring in transparent polycarbonate, 3D printing for quick prototypes of components for breathing ventilators, and the development of virus repellent coatings, which also avoid condensation.
