ADALBERTO AND SONAE GET TOGETHER TO MAKE MASKS

A cooperation project that joined Adalberto Estampados with Sonae, on the industrial side, and CITEVE, Instituto de Medicina Molecular da Universidade de Lisboa and Universidade do Minho, on the research side, resulted in the development of an innovative antimicrobial textile mask that is completely made in Portugal.

The project, innovative at a global level, aims to offer a wide range of products, and is open to sell for other brands, both in Portugal abroad. The goal is to make this technical clothing accessible to the highest possible number of people.

The MOxAd-Tech features antimicrobial properties, with proven efficacy against both viruses and bacteria, and incorporates internationally accredited technology.

The active substance has already been successfully tested by the Institut Pasteur de Lille, in France, namely against the H1N1 as well as Corona-type viruses and rotavirus. Currently, specific tests for Covid-19 are undergoing at Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes, for a mask that has already been given professional level 2 certification by CITEVE for social use. Regarding particle blocking, the MOxAd-Tech masks guarantee a retaining capacity of 95%.

The masks are highly resistant to washing, maintaining antimicrobial properties close to 100%, even after 50 domestic washes at 30 degrees.
