Sedacor was the Portuguese company attending Heimtextil selected for the architecture magazine AIT trends list. The goal is to select all kinds of innovative products, particularly appealing to architects and interior designers, and Sedacor’s cork products are among the 15 finalists.
A selection that results from the research made by 40 trend-hunters, including architects, designers and interior designers, which for the tenth time visited Heimtextil on behalf of the architecture magazine AIT, where approximately 3000 exhibitors presented their innovations to the world.
“This nomination is yet another proof of the intrinsic value that our cork products have to the world, as well as the acknowledgement of the great investment that we are carrying out in order to make attractive, functional and sustainable proposals for the world of interior design and architecture, from a unique raw material and the best technology our Nature has to offer: cork!”, revels Albertino Oliveira, Sedacor marketing and sales director.
Sedacor, in partnership with Têxteis Penedo and CITEVE, is responsible for creating the Cork.a.Tex.Yarn project, which produces industrially yarn made from cotton and cork scraps. In May 2019, it was awarded the Innovation Prize by TechTextil, and in its second year of production, Cork.a.Tex.Yarn will enable a turnover of 1.5 million euro, in a business model that is based on the creation a premium product.
