PARFOIS ‘SNATCHES’ TALENT FROM BIMBA AND LOLA

Parfois has once again hired top executives from the competition, this time being Ángela Goitia, former international manager of Bimba y Lola, who will now be in charge of the Spanish department of the Portuguese brand. For now, Goitia is tasked with conducting the reopening of roughly 360 Parfois stores in the Spanish market – the largest network of the company within a single market.

Just before the Covid-19 outbreak, the company was expanding in the Spanish market, where it aimed to grow either with brand stores or by resorting to franchises or cornerstores at El Corte Inglés department stores. According to the latest available data, Parfois closed 2018 with a sales volume of approximately 130 million in Spain alone.

Globally, the company has surpassed the thousand-store threshold last year and was planning, before the onset of the pandemic, on reaching 400 million euro in sales in 2020, due to an expansion plan meant for Spain, Italy, France and online – goal that is certainly in jeopardy given the health crisis.

Angela Goitia graduated in Corporate Management from the University of Wales and has more than twenty years of experience in the sector. She worked at Camper and then at Sociedad Textil Lonia, leading for eleven years the company’s affairs in northern Spain. In 2016, she moved to Bimba y Lola, having been at the vanguard of the company’s international expansion over the course of four years.

The hiring comes by the hand of the Spaniard José María Folache, the CEO of Parfois who was himself recently hired a year ago from Tous. Parfois specializes in affordable luxury apparel.
