‘You can leave’ is the title of the new collection of T-shirts by the Portuguese brand Josefinas, in collaboration with APAV (Portuguese Association of Victim Support). Featuring illustrations of support and encouragement to women victims of domestic abuse, it has been awarded by the French platform Adforum, which included it amongst the five best in the world.
Famous for its women’s shoe collection, Josefinas is now under the spotlight thanks to its special line of solidary T-shirts. The brand was inspired by real stories of women, victims of domestic abuse, and presented three models, illustrated by the British artist Jacqueline Bisset. The profits of the collection will be given to APAV.
‘I slipped and fell’, ‘I bumped against a door’ or ‘I fell down the stairs’ are the three key-sentences that became the motto for the campaign, which, besides the T-shirts also features a limited edition of sneakers and shoelaces, printed with anti-violence messages.
Founded seven years ago, in Braga, by Maria Cunha and Filipa Júlio, Josefinas has been building a path of international success, mostly based on their trademark luxury handmade women’s shoes. Present in 60 countries, the brand increased its shoe sales by 50% in the first semester of this year. Mexico, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom are some of its main markets.
