JF ALMEIDA MAKES MORE THAN 50 THOUSAND MASKS PER DAY

Têxteis J.F. Almeida has ensured the production of more than 50 thousand masks every day, and besides Portugal, the orders are coming in from such diverse geographies as Belgium, France, Germany or Dubai. “We developed our own model that now bears the Covid-19 Approved seal, attesting its conformity with CITEVE’s demanding criteria”, discloses Juliana Almeida, the group’s CFO.

“Responding to the widespread demand for reusable masks”, the company broadened its production to this new type of product, which is already a part of consumers’ daily routine.

This pandemic is strongly affecting the economy “and JFAlmeida was no exception: the greater part of our customers have delayed deliveries. Consequently, payments and some orders have even been cancelled while they were already in the production line. We had to make decisions as we went, and adjust our production to this new reality. Until this moment, we were labouring 35% on traditional production”, said the CFO.

Juliana Almeida revealed that “during this phase, we will keep a partial layoff, although many workers have returned to their work stations, and we hope to have the whole team back soon”.

Founded in 1979, Têxteis J.F. Almeida – whose turnover is beyond 60 million euro, more than 90% of which made from exports –, currently holds a team of over 600 qualified employees.
