HEY SOLEIL’S CIRCULAR ECONOMY HAS A PLACE IN THE SUN

The Portuguese brand Hey Soleil has launched the “SunUp” project, which encourages customers to return items from previous collections in exchange for a 30% discount. All in the name of circular economy, once these items are then donated or sold at low prices.

Promoter of a genderless style, the recently created Hey Soleil is also betting on colourful shapes and pattern, which, according to João Silva, the brand’s marketing director, “enable clothing rotation and inheritance between family and friends”.

The idea of the “SunUp” project came after the launch of their last collection, “Birthday Everyday”, a few days after the Global Fashion Agenda published that in the EU, the most part of the 9.5 million tons of textiles purchased are discarded even before using.

Moved by the environmental impact of the fashion industry, the directors of Hey Soleil are now encouraging customers to return items from previous collections. All the garments are designed and made in Portugal, and are OEKO-TEX certified.

The returned items will be sold at low prices or even donated, in order to promote circular economy and thus minimize the environmental impact of the children’s fashion industry.
