Farfetch – in partnership with Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Instituto Superior Técnico – is creating a new generation of online smart chatbots that help customers access information in a more natural way, support them in the decision-making process.
“The field of multimodal chatbots is still fairly unexplored and I believe this a project with an enormous potential. iFetch may bring significant innovations to online shopping in a very near future, enabling users to access information in a more natural way, and helping them to make better shopping decisions”, explains Luís Carvalho, Farfetch’s VP Architecture, quoted by the newspaper Eco.
Using artificial intelligence technology for multimodal conversation, Farfetch relies on a multidisciplinary team to develop this project. The deadline for the completion of iFetch is within three years.
“Farfetch has shown in other projects that it appreciates very much this connection to the community, and I believe that it is doing it again with a project that has the potential to revolutionize the experience of online shopping for millions of consumers”, concludes Luís Carvalho.
