ERT unveils the train seats of the future

ERT textiles has presented an innovative and modular train seat, versatile and customizable, for regional/intercity trains. Using new processes and materials, the seat was developed in the context of the Modseat – Modular Light-Rail Seat, and was made in partnership with the Technical Superior Institute (IST), MCG Mind for Metal, Almadesign and SETsa (Iberomoldes group).

The seat, which comes in two versions – one in leather and another one in fabric (by Penteadora) –, is the answer for the future demands of public transportation: it reduces costs in rehabilitation operations and dismantling, weighs less and provides more comfort due to its material and innovative manufacturing processes.

Smartsolutions and infotainment systems, which enable the adjustment of the seat to the type/level of the service.

The ERT group is a Portuguese multinational focused on technical textiles that employs 1,100 people, has its centre of gravity in São João da Madeira and closed 2018 with a turnover of 120 million euro. The group, born two decades ago, is a reference in supplying for the auto industry, and besides São João da Madeira it owns factories in the Czech Republic, Romania, Spain, Morocco and Mexico.
