CIRCULAR ECONOMY IS A PRIORITY FOR THE VALERIUS HUB

It is with two environmentally friendly projects that RDD and Valerius 360, both owned by the Valerius group, are making great strides on the path to sustainability, with mechanical recycling and a new dyeing process as the stars of this journey.

“These two projects are being developed with one of our best customers, and we couldn’t be more proud”, says Elsa Parente, RDD CEO.

The first project, explains the RDD CEO, “is the Valerius 360, which is a mechanical recycling process “that allows us to make recycled cotton thread by using textile scraps from the textile and clothing industry.

The Valerius Group has also developed an innovative finish. “It is a dyeing process with microorganisms created in partnership with the University of Cambridge that reduces water waste by 90%, provides an energy saving that varies between 20 to 40%, and also ensures a chemical reduction in dyeing that reaches 90%”, reveals Elsa Parente.

“Sustainability is a very broad concept. In reality, it is a matter of not stealing resources from the next generations. We, at RDD and at Valerius HUB as a whole, are devoted to this commitment”, sentences Elsa Parente.
