AutoEuropa shows interest in P&R’s sensor suit

AutoEuropa is interested in using P&R’s sensor suit in their automobile crash tests. The suit is being developed by a consortium led by P&R Textiles, within the scope of the Textile Cluster (CT), in the Technology and Fashion strand.

The group headed by P&R includes five other partners: CITEVE, INESC Tec, FEUP, Fade Up / Labiomep and LMA.

The projected is expected to be finished by the end of June next year, and comprises not only the development of the suit (to be used like underwear), but also of a mobile app, which converts all the information collected by this innovative garment into objective data, later made available to the team for prototype development.

“This tool aims to generate information for the development and validation of technical sportswear – high competition included – with refined features and adapting perfectly not only to the athletes‘ ergonomics, but also to their needs. With it, we will be able to reduce substantially the development time and costs by eliminating various prototyping phases,” explains Duarte Nuno Pinto, P&R’s president (in the photo).
