ANJOS & LOURENÇO IS BETTING ON SUSTAINABILITY

Specialized in manufacturing for Private Label, Anjos & Lourenço is entirely dedicated to designing a new collection of sustainable garments, mostly oriented towards fashion, sportswear and fitness, which was recently presented at the last edition of Première Vision Paris.

“80% of our visitors went through these items, which started many conversations and exchange of contacts”, chirps João Anjo, CEO of Anjos & Lourenço, satisfied with their début in Paris. The company established potential business with clients from the US, Japan and France, mostly attracted by the clothes with natural dyes – obtained from plant extracts that are less harmful for the environment.

The technical finishes, like the flame retardant treatment, repellent for insects, water or oil as well as anti-friction, also captivated potential buyers. “We were visited by French, English, Japanese and also North-Americans. To convert a single contact into a buyer would have made our participation at the fair worth it.”

Nowadays, Anjos & Lourenço sends most of its production to European markets, but the long-term strategy is to diversify their destinations. “European markets tend to fluctuate. Brexit or the German market, which seems to be at the beginning of a recession, are an example. It will be important for us to increase sales for the US, Japan and even Nordic countries, which are more stable”, explains.

Celebrating 30 years in the business, Anjos & Lourenço employs 60 people and has a business volume close to seven million euro.
